Environmental Responsibility - DANA Doors | Austria's Most Popular Door

SIZE OPENS THE DOOR TO CONSCIOUS SUSTAINABILITY.

Because environmental protection affects us all, we have tailored our entire production process to it. Every step of the process is carefully considered – even the steps that take place before work begins. From carpooling to work to the selection of woods and finishes –wherever opportunities for greater sustainability arise, we seize them.

OUR ENVIRONMENT MATTERS

At DANA, we care about the environment – both ours and yours. What does that mean? It means we’re helping to create a healthy environment – and not just in passing.

CERTIFICATES

PEFC Certificate

The “Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes” is an international forest certification system designed to ensure and continuously improve sustainable forest management in compliance with environmental, social, and economic standards.

FSC Certification

The Forest Stewardship Council® is a certification system for forestry established to ensure sustainable forest management. Its primary focus is on preserving and enhancing the economic, ecological, and social functions of forest operations.

RESOURCE-EFFICIENT, SUSTAINABLE MANAGEMENT

Wood, a natural raw material – harvested from the green lungs of our planet – often has a 100-year history by the time it is processed.

We have the utmost respect for our raw material, which is why JELD-WEN has committed to a strict eco-sustainability framework – the EMAS Environmental Statement. After all, resource-conserving and sustainable practices are of the utmost importance to us.

We know that life and survival are impossible without our (rain)forests.

That is why we are committed to sustainable forest management and have these standards verified by the globally recognized PEFC and FSC® certifications. Furthermore, we work exclusively with suppliers who share this commitment to sustainability and also hold the corresponding certifications. This ensures that the origin of the wood behind every DANA door is fully traceable.

But we go one step further: Together with a paint supplier, we are refining the composition of the ingredients. This improves working conditions both at the supplier’s facility and in DANA production. By using state-of-the-art equipment during processing, consumption – and thus any associated environmental impact – is minimized.

Let’s work together to protect what absolutely must be protected – our environment.

HEALTHIER LIVING WITH DANA DOORS

New developments do not always bring the desired relief in all areas of life. In the construction industry, for example, a lot has changed in recent years. Buildings are constructed more efficiently, insulated better, and thus save energy and resources.

As a result of all these advances, new circumstances have emerged that require a response. While heat can practically no longer escape from a new building, neither can any pollutants or emissions from sources such as flooring, furniture, or doors. This must be taken into account during the construction phase and later when furnishing the space.

FACTORS AFFECTING INDOOR CLIMATE

Indoor climate is determined by the interaction of temperature, humidity, air quality, and air movement. A good indoor climate has a balancing effect, enhances performance, and also strengthens the human immune system.

POLLUTANT CONCENTRATIONS BEFORE 1994 AND TODAY

How comfortable we feel at home depends on various factors. In addition to lighting, color, and furnishings, the indoor environment also has a significant impact on our well-being and health.

That is why DANA products undergo emissions testing at Holzforschung Austria. In this way, we are actively committed to promoting healthier living environments, as the VOC emissions* from our interior door components are well below the legally permitted limit.

*VOC = Volatile Organic Compounds – volatile organic compounds such as formaldehyde.
