What types of door closers are there?
To help you open and close your doors quietly, there is what is known as opening and closing damping. This system slows the door down as it swings open and as it closes, then gently pulls it shut—as with DANAmotion and DANAmotion Easy. Damping systems can be used with a wide variety of door types, such as swing, sliding, and swing-and-slide doors, or the DANA SWING. Another type of door damper is DANA smartClose. Here, we’re talking about a closing damper with a latching function.
Can dampers be retrofitted?
Retrofit installation is possible for sliding doors or glass doors. For other types of doors, retrofitting is not recommended, as the door dampers require milled slots to be cut into the door panel, frame, or jamb.
Do door closers need to be maintained?
No, these are maintenance-free.
